Alex Brown

Buying Manager, San Diego Jewelry Buyers

Alex is a native San Diegan who started his estate buying career at a very young age scouring estate sales, swap meets, and pawn shops. He was always looking for those “hidden treasures.” After high school, he left California to attend Montana State University  in Bozeman, Montana. There he studied Business Management with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship.  While attending school, he used his buying experience to land a job at a local Jewelry & Loan.  After six months he was promoted to store manager, a position he held for the next three years until he resigned in order to return to San Diego.

After returning to San Diego, and wanting to continue on his path as an Estate Buyer, he enrolled at the Gemological Institute of America to study diamonds and colored gemstones. Because of his estate buying experience and newly acquired diamond education, he was hired as a part-time Junior Estate Buyer at San Diego Jewelry Buyers. After just one month, he earned a promotion to a full-time Estate Buyer. His favorite items to evaluate are diamonds and high-end watches. You can still find him on the weekends at local estate sales and swap meets buying anything that catches his eye. Alex’s passion for this industry is derived from the idea of being a modern-age treasure hunter.
